Non-Profit and Long-Term Care Leadership Development Partner
Cathy Bergland designs and delivers transformational leadership development experiences for corporate, faith-based, and education-based clients with a focus on strengths-based leadership, intercultural competence, and performance excellence. Cathy is the lead consultant and trainer for the CB Leadership Group, an organization she founded in 2021. The CB Leadership Group focuses on the areas of Leadership Development, Intercultural Competence, and Performance Excellence. She brings more than 35 years of leadership experience having served primarily in the non-profit and older adult services arenas.
Cathy served as the Chief Learning Officer from 2012 – 2020 and as a Training and Development Consultant from 2020 – 2022 for ImpactLives. Before joining ImpactLives as a staff member, she was Chair of the Board of Directors for four years. At ImpactLives, She also filled operational, administrative, and customer relationship management roles.
Cathy has also served at Presbyterian Homes & Services since 1986, most recently as the Leadership Institute Dean. Her previous roles included Executive Director of Leadership Development and Organizational Effectiveness, Director of Care Center Operations, Director of Quality Management, and the Executive Director of Operations. Presbyterian Homes & Services now has more than fifty-one campuses in Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin and currently employs nearly 8,000 staff.
Cathy received her undergraduate degree in Music Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, her MBA from the University of St. Thomas, and is also a licensed Nursing Home Administrator. She has filled adjunct faculty positions with the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (Health Care Administration) and Bethel University (MBA Program). She is also a Judge, Trainer, and Examiner for the American Health Care Association’s Quality Award program and certified through the Performance Excellence Network in Minnesota to perform organizational assessments and evaluate organizational performance. She is a Qualified Administrator (QA) for the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI).
